DiSSCo-BG presented at a national conference

On November 15, 2024, the project DISSCO-BG was presented at a conference dedicated to the use of high-performance computing for science and innovation. The conference was organised by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT-BAS).

This year, the focus of the conference were the achievements of the Centre for High-Performance and Distributed Computing (CHDC), which is an object of the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructures of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as the Centre for Competence in the Field of High-Performance Computing, developed within the framework of a European project for the creating and development of a network of national centres (EuroCC2).

The DiSSCo-BG project, implemented by the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research and the National Museum of Natural History at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, is also an object of the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructure. Thanks to the good integration among the institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, we use the exceptional capacity created by our partners of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for storing the information arrays of the main Bulgarian natural history collections.

The account on the main tasks and the progress of the DiSSCo-BG provoked the interest of the participants.
